  • Reliable - we deliver what we promise, and more
  • Innovative - we make things better than they were yesterday
The Role :
  • This position is a customer-facing, hands-on Solution Architect who owns the journey from presales through delivery shaping for Thought Machine-based initiatives. As CTO of mobileLIVE would frame it: we need someone who can confidently sit with CIBC stakeholders, uncover the problem, and then translate it into a credible, bank-grade solution and delivery plan that our teams can execute.
  • You will be responsible for creating architecture diagrams, integration approaches, demo preparation, and the documentation required for enterprise decisions (HLD/LLD, assumptions, risks, non-functional requirements). You’ll also convert scope into a work breakdown structure and developer-ready tasks, setting up framework templates so delivery teams can move fast with consistency.
  • is is a “builder + communicator” role: you must be able to lead discussions with executives and architects, while also being detailed enough to guide engineers and collaborate daily with BSAs, developers, and client teams.
You Will :
  • You will lead and contribute to presales discovery workshops, capturing functional scope and non-functional requirements, then shaping a target-state architecture that fits CIBC’s ecosystem and risk posture.
  • You will design and document integrations (APIs, events, security/IAM patterns, audit logs, observability, deployment approach) and produce both HLD and LLD deliverables that stand up to enterprise review.
  • You will build and maintain demo storylines and demo assets—including environment readiness, representative data, integration stubs, and “golden path” flows that clearly show how the modernization works. You will create WBS, estimates, and delivery plans, breaking work into epics, features, and developer tasks, and ensuring dependencies and risks are transparent.
  • You’ll also set up reusable templates—repository scaffolding, coding standards, CI/CD baseline, integration accelerators—so multiple teams can execute consistently. Throughout, you will collaborate closely with client stakeholders, BSAs, developers, and mobileLIVE leadership.
Who You Are :
  • You are a senior solution architect with strong banking domain understanding, and you are comfortable being the person in the room who connects business intent to technical reality. You have demonstrable experience leading presales solutioning—discovery, proposals, estimates, and demos—and you can present clearly to executive and architecture audiences without losing technical credibility.
  • You are structured: you produce clean diagrams, crisp HLD/LLD documentation, and practical delivery plans that engineers can implement.
  • You think in integration-first terms: API design, event-driven patterns, security controls, data governance, auditability, and resiliency. Ideally, you have worked with Canadian Tier-1 banks and can navigate stakeholder complexity, risk/compliance expectations, and the pace of enterprise decision-making.
  • You’re also hands-on enough to set up frameworks and templates, not just create slides. Most importantly, you can work independently, handle ambiguity, and consistently drive toward outcomes—winning the work and then shaping it into a successful delivery.

Besides Competitive Salary and working for one of Canadas Best Managed and Top 50 Technology Companies, you should expect:
